I've spent a lot of time learning how things work.
Institutions.
Technology.
People.
Cities.
Companies.
Communities.
I'm still interested in the same question:
What's possible here?
I've been in enough rooms to know the answer rarely sits in one person's head.
Sometimes you have to learn the technical problem.
Sometimes you have to understand the people.
Sometimes you have to find the person who knows what you don't.
Sometimes you have to put two people in the same room.
And sometimes you just have to stay with it.
That's the work I like.
A problem worth working on.
Good people.
Room to figure it out.
Something that needs to exist.
I don't need the whole thing mapped out before we start.
Give me a messy problem.
I'll start figuring out how to move it.
A lot of rooms.
Military.
Technology.
Government.
Business.
Classrooms.
Boardrooms.
Coffee shops.
Community meetings.
Bars over chicken wings.
Each one leaves something behind.
A little more context.
A better question.
A new relationship.
A different way of seeing the next room.
Seasoned cast iron.
Hardened, but not jaded.
Practical, but optimistic.
Still curious.
Still looking for the next thing worth getting moving.
