A few became programs.
Some became something nobody could have described at the beginning.
These are a few of them.
A satellite failed on its way to operational orbit.
The job changed.
Ten flights.
More than 100 aspiring officers.
The lesson was learning how to hold a standard without losing the person inside it.
More than $500 million.
More than 500,000 users.
Hundreds of mission-critical systems.
The harder part was understanding what was happening underneath the structure.
After the Air Force, there was no longer a title telling me where I fit.
So I started listening.
Then finding places to help.
A former bank.
A lot of people.
A lot of ideas.
And a room where things started happening that nobody could have planned from the beginning.
The people were already there.
The rooms were already there.
The opportunity was connecting them.
The original plan didn't survive.
The reason for doing it did.
So we changed the container and kept moving.
The work remains the same.
